Roeland Duijne, Cello (Netherlands)
Dutch cellist Roeland Duijne began to play the cello at the age of nine.
He studied at the Conservatory of Amsterdam with Tibor de Machula and Anner Bijlsma, the Paris Conservatory with Maurice Gendron and at Indiana University with Janos Starker.
He made his official debut in 1984 as soloist playing the Elgar Cello Concerto during a nationwide tour of Holland with the National University Orchestra. This was followed by numerous performances, many of which were televised, both at home and abroad. He gave the world premiere of Johan de Meij’s cello concerto Casanova, which he has since played with leading symphonic wind orchestras worldwide.
He performed with the Ensemble Intercontemporain under Pierre Boulez, and toured France as a member of the Quintette de Paris. Roeland has also been principal cellist of several orchestras, including the Irish Chamber Orchestra. Several tours have taken him to the Far East; he has appeared as soloist with the symphony orchestras of Shanghai, Peking, Canton, Singapore and Bangkok, and with the pianist Rie Tanaka he has played recitals in Sapporo and Tokyo.
Lee Kett Chuan, Cello (Malaysia)
Hailed by the Boston Arts Review "elegant and breathtaking" playing, Kett Chuan is a full-scholarship alumni of The Boston Conservatory and Longy School of Music where he studied with Rhonda Rider, Mihail Jojatu, and the late Bernard Greenhouse.
He was selected by legendary conductor Lorin Maazel to participate the Castleton Music Festival last year. Lee played the principal chair in music festivals such as the Napa Festival Del Sole, National Orchestral Institute and Asian Youth Orchestra. As an active performer, he performs regularly with Boston String Quartet, Symphony Nova, Atlantic Symphony; engages in musical productions with Lyric Stage Company, The Company Theatre, Trinity Repertory Theater; appeared as a soloist with Waltham Philharmonic and played recitals in Japan, Korea and Malaysia.
In addition to performing, Kett serves as an adjunct faculty at Dean College, and has recently been invited to adjudicate competition in Duxbury Music Festival and Malaysian Youth Orchestra Festival (MYOF).
Liew Soon Yee, Double Bass (Malaysia)
Multi-instrumentalist Ipoh born musician Liew Soon Yee is currently principle double-bassist of Kinta Valley Wind Orchestra, Kinta Valley String Orchestra, and Perak Philharmonic Orchestra.
While continuing his passion in Western music, Mr. Liew is also a Chinese orchestra instructor in which he is now a coach for the Yuk Choy Chinese Orchestra. Apart from performing, Mr. Liew now actively teaches cello and various Chinese instruments.
Born and raised in Ipoh, Mr. Liew is an experienced cellist and double-bassist. He started playing double bass during his studies in high school’s Chinese orchestra.
He completed his Grade 8 Associated Board Of the Royal School Of Music (ABRSM) with distinction at the age of 18 under the principle double-bassist of Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

From Bach to Yiruma! This year ensemble will be music from Vivaldi’s all time favourite, The Four Seasons violin concerto; Bach’s famous Air on G String & Brandenburg Concerto; the heart-warming Yiruma’s River Flows Into You; the exotic Bizet’s Carmen Fantasy and many more!
We will also feature the super clarinet soloist Mr. Andrew Simon, well-known for his flawless fingers-flying techniques and beautiful tone that will give you all an unforgettable musical journey!
The ensemble will also extend its mission on intensive education and outreach programs benefiting local community and younger generation, such as “Meet the Musicians” sessions and workshops involving students from various schools – to provide harmony for ALL.
