2019 PSPA Holiday Extravaganza @ Ipoh Car Free Day

This year Perak Society of Performing Arts will be participating in the Ipoh Car Free Day tentatively set on 24th November 2019 which coincide with the school holiday. We hope to mark this holiday with the community in the spirit of JOY through performing arts of song, music & dance. For this purpose, we have obtained the endorsement and support from the Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh (MBI) and State Government to organize a PSPA HOLIDAY EXTRAVAGANZA 2019!

We also take this opportunity to celebrate the achievement of ‘One Million Star to End Violence’ project, a collaboration between PSPA and other NGOs namely Soroptimist International Ipoh (SI), Perak Women for Women Society (PWW) in conjunction with ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women’.

This is a 2 ½ hours event starting from 7.30am to 10.00am along Jalan Raja Dihilir. It will showcase our rich, diverse and multi ethnic’s performing arts through a display of dances, singing, music, character modeling and etc. We shall also invite participation of corporations and NGOs with the sale of commercial products such as dry food and beverage, gifts and souvenirs associated with this holiday theme to boost the atmosphere on this Sunday morning.

Highlight of this extravaganza will be ‘One Million Star’ parade, officiated by Duli Yang Maha Mulia Raja Permaisuri Perak Darul Ridzuan, Tuanku Zara Salim, followed by prize giving to winners of respective contests as well as distribution of goodies to the public.

This colourful holiday extravaganza comprising of some 30 participating groups/organizations in addition to the regular participants at the monthly Car Free Day amidst a carnival atmosphere is expected to draw a crowd of many thousands as well as various media coverage. We truly believe this will be a fun filled Sunday morning not to be missed.

Last but not least, The Society wishes that the following end objectives will be achieved via the execution of this event:

To spread the spirit of ‘Loving, Sharing, Giving’
To promote and practice performing arts within the state
To create exposure for multi ethnics performing arts groups
To achieve an artistically vibrant city through the collaboration between local authority and performing arts groups
