Ipoh Audition - Kakiseni for The Other Festival

Theater three sixty presents in collaboration with Kakiseni & the Perak Society of Performing Arts - for The Other Festival.

*Performance dates: Thursday, Oct 29 to Sunday, Nov 1 (7.30pm to 10.30pm nightly)*

*Intensive Rehearsals: Saturday, Oct 23 to Monday, Oct 25 (All Day)*

*Technical Rehearsals & Dress Rehearsals: Tuesday, Oct 26 & Wednesday Oct 27 (6pm onwards)*

A street of struggles, unheard. Love, blossoming in a coffee shop. An argument in an empty hospice room. A single person's work, forgotten over the years. Even as we rise above the Kinta River, emotions intertwine themselves with our recollections of the past, colouring them or suppressing them entirely.

Curated and directed by theatre three sixty's artistic director Christopher Ling, *Ascent: These Memories Made for Walking* forms a part of Kakiseni's The Other Festival

A site-specific, fully immersive performing arts trail, *Ascent*is a foray into the unspoken narratives that are woven into the history and present of Ipoh, featuring original writing from playwrights Nandang Abdul Rahman and Ariff Kamil as well as an excerpt from the play, *Yellow Gentlemen* by Benjamin Yeoh.

*We are looking for 10 ACTORS (18 and above; male and female; who can speak either English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese dialects) to be part of ASCENT.

No prior theatre experience is needed. Auditionees MUST be able to attend the callback on Sunday morning.*

Ipoh Audition :

* Audition: Saturday, 19 September (7.30pm to 10.30pm) *

* (in pre-allocated 5-min slots)*

*Callback: Sunday, 20 September (10am to 1pm)*

*Location: **City Ballet, 40b, Persiaran Greentown No. 1, 30450 Ipoh*

*A 2-minute monologue, from a published source (movie, book, playscript), must be memorized. *
