“Mozart on Silk Road” orchestral concert * Performs in Ipoh for one night only - August 23
Imagine the enchanting strains of Mozart’s flute quartet, fused with the mystical sounds of Eastern instruments. Imagine string and woodwind instruments – violin, viola, flute and clarinet – as well as the classical piano, in harmonious repertoire with the Dizi, Erhu, Quzheng, Indian drums and even some Tibetan instruments.
Such is the essence of PSPA International Ensemble’s latest concert, “Mozart on Silk Road”, creatively arranged and conducted by its Musical Director Mr Eugene Pook.
Featuring a tantalizing fusion and heady combination of the East and West, “Mozart on Silk Road” will take audiences on an exciting musical journey performed by an 11-piece ensemble comprising local talent alongside internationally acclaimed musicians from Canada, Taiwan and China.
Now in its sixth season, PSPA International Ensemble will perform for one night only, on August 23rd, at the Royal Perak Golf Club. The programme includes Tan Dun’s “Crouching Tiger”, “Dance of the Tao people”, Mozart’s flute quartet, Chen Yi’s Tibetan tunes and other evocative music from the exotic east.
This will be an experience not to be missed by music lovers of every age and genre. There will also be workshops and master classes conducted by visiting musicians for a limited number of music students. Tickets are expected to sell out so book early to avoid disappointment.
