Marianne Poh (Mezzo-Soprano, Malaysia)
Marianne Poh’s first experience of performing came when she was 13. Whilst pursuing her studies in piano, violin and vocal, voice had been her calling to pursue. As she progressed in the mastery of her vocal skills throughout her school years, Marianne has been actively involved in choral singing with many groups in theatre and gospel, both locally and abroad. She has participated in master classes under the tutelage of Loh Siew Tuan (Pro Musica in Loei, Thailand and Penang). With the flair of projecting emotional intensity in her voice, she had the privilege to work with the highly acclaimed Belgian accompanist Hein Boterberg from Flanders Opera Studio from Belgium. Marianne is currently running a music studio, Musicprints, in Ipoh. As a music enthusiast, she shares her love of music as a therapist for autistic kids.
Sirikhwan Buathong (Soprano, Thailand)
Sirikhwan graduated Master degree in Music education from Mahidol University. Her Bachelor degree is music education (major voice) from Faculty of education, Chulongkorn University with first class honor golden medal. Sirikhwan participated in the Master classes for advance singers by the coaches from Opera studio in Belgium, over past 10 years. In January 2016 she performed in the role of Sonia from the opera "The merry widow". She has experience for teaching singing more than 14 years. Recently she is a vocal teacher at British international school, Phuket.
Salith Dechsangworn (Tenor, Thailand)
Salith completed his Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance in 2005 and a Master's Degree as Vocal Performance in 2013 at Mahidol University College of Music.
Salith’s was a member of The Voices and participated The Choir Olympics 2006 at Xiamen, China. In 2008, he was invited by the Bangkok Opera to sing pop opera numbers at Bali, Indonesia. The following year, Salith was invited to perform as a soloist with Bangkok Music Society in the 2009 Christmas Concert. In 2010, he became a member of a band Viva, a band dedicated to crossover music and was also selected to play Geno in the musical “Ghost Opera”. His operatic roles in 2012 were “Ferrando” (Cosi Fan Tutte), "Father" in A Boy and A Tiger at Impact Arena under the direction of Bruce Gaston. In 2013, he was invited to organize and sing a concert by Perak Society of Performing Arts (PSPA) at Perak, Malaysia.
Salith is currently attached to Mahidol University College of Music (Siam Paragon) in Thailand as a full-time voice teacher and also as a resident singer with Grand Opera Thailand.
Khoo Wu Ji (Tenor, Malaysia)
Khoo Wu Ji was born in Pokok Sena, Kedah. He graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Hons.) in Classical Music, majoring in classical voice and piano at UCSI University. He has obtained both his Grade 8 in singing (Trinity Guildhall Examination Board) and DipLCM in 2009 and 2010 respectively. In 2011, Wu Ji obtained his ATCL Certificate from the Trinity Guildhall Examination Board in Voice Recital. He has been awarded Gold Prize in Chin Yong Youth Vocal Competition 2016. He has often been selected to join the International Opera Workshop ‘Promusica’ in Penang and ‘The Winter Journey’ in Thailand.
Zhang Chi (Accompanist, China)
Zhang Chi was brought up in an artistic family, as his father is a well-known professor of Chinese painting.
Zhang Chi is graduated from Monash University (Australia), Master of Music. He studied piano performance with Darryl Coote. During the year in Australia, Zhang Chi was engaged in many concerts including several Twilight concerts and ‘Music in the Round’ presenting by Monash University as well as performing on radio 3MBS. Zhang Chi also performed several fund-raising concerts for the Dili hospital, ‘Dollars for Dili’ and participated in ‘Team of Pianists’ concert programme. Zhang Chi also has been invited to judge the Bernstein piano competition in Shepparton for several times.
Zhang Chi travelled many countries to perform including went to Europe on a music tour, visited music schools in Paris, Salzburg, Freiburg and Bolzano 2007; Performed in Shenzhen, Gaoming and Nanjing, as a part of tour of China in 2008; Gave masterclasses in Taizhou, China in 2009. In July of 2011, Zhang Chi completed Master of Music at Monash University; In 2013, Zhang Chi went on a music tour to give concerts in Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Nanjing; in 2014, he was invited by ‘Team of Pianists’ to perform in Mornington, Melbourne.
Kang Su Kheng (Accompanist, Malaysia)
Kang Su Kheng, a pianist well-known for her sensitivity in music interpretation, actively performs as an accompanist in classical music. Hailing from Alor Setar, Kedah, Kang is also an accomplished keyboardist in contemporary music and occasionally plays the percussion in gamelan troupes. Recently, Kang has been commissioned by an NGO as a music composer for their dance performances.
Kang completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at USM in 2009, studying under Dr. Yumi Yoshioka and Dr. Jason Tye Kong Chiang. In the same year, she clinched the best scholar award for the LTCL piano exam and completed the FTCL the following year. Kang pursued her Master’s Degree in Piano Accompaniment at Wichita State University, USA, under the tutelage of Dr. Julie Bees. She was awarded a full Graduate Assistantship that gave her the opportunity to tutor university students in piano performance.
During her tenure is the United States, Kang taught as a part-time lecturer, teaching undergraduate group piano classes while serving with The Guild Accompanist Group at Wichita State University as an apprentice accompanist. Despite being an accomplished solo pianist in her own right, accompanying has been Kang’s primary focus as working with different musicians has been her lifelong passion.
