SYMPHONY OF VOICES – A Charity Concert
About the concert
The Kuala Lumpur Pop Orchestra (KLPO) will hold a concert on 22 October 2014 (Wednesday), 8pm at the Grand Ballroom, Syuen Hotel, Ipoh, titled Symphony Of Voices. Concert programme for the evening will include a performance by the KLPO and also a series of delightful well-known classical as well as pop songs which will be sung by 4 local Ipoh singers: Estee Pook, Vick Teo, Marrianne Poh and Goldy Lee. Also featured is Dennis Lau, an electric violinist.
Programme for the night includes Canon in D, Nella Fantasia, Over the Rainbow, Fly Me to the Moon, All I Ask of You and many more.
Estee Pook is a local renowned multilingual singer. Vick Teo is the 2004 Malaysian Idol 2nd Runner Up. Marrianne Poh is a singer, pianist and violinist whose first love is singing. Goldy Lee is a 16-year old talented singer. Dennis Lau is an international renowned Electric Violinist and songwriter well-known for his stylish, creative and electrifying flair in his performance. The KLPO is currently directed by its Artistic Director & Conductor Mr. Eugene Pook.
Purpose of Concert The Symphony of Voices is a charity concert held in aid of two Palliative Care centers: the Perak Palliative Care Society in Ipoh, and the Assunta Palliative Care Center in Petaling jaya. The concert aims to raise funds for EACH of the two Palliative Care centres.
Palliative Care centres are amongst the least known non-profit medical care centers which treat people suffering from serious and chronic illnesses. They focus on relieving patients from the symptoms, pain, and stress of serious illnesses. The goal is to improve the quality life of both the patient AND the family.
Tickets for the concert are priced at RM100, RM50 and RM30.
